Irene DesignsTwo walls were taken down to open up the kitchen and to enlarge the dining room by adding the front hallway space to the main area. Powder room and coat closet were relocated from the center of the house to the garage wall. The door to the garage was shifted by 3 feet to extend uninterrupted wall space for kitchen cabinets and to allow for a bigger island.

Capped by a picturesque double chimney and distinguished by its distinctive roof lines and patterned brick, stone and siding, Rookwood draws inspiration from Tudor and Shingle styles, two of the world’s most enduring architectural forms. Popular from about 1890 through 1940, Tudor is characterized by steeply pitched roofs, massive chimneys, tall narrow casement windows and decorative half-timbering.
