VanderHorn ArchitectsThe Breakfast Room, featuring views into the landscape, has diamond shaped leaded glass transoms over the doors and windows.
ChangoThis informal kitchen dining area sits 6 and is composed of wood and rattan Klismos chairs, paired with a rough zinc top table. Polished nickel was used as the prominent metal for all light fixtures in the kitchen area. Walls were wallpapered with a soft pattern of lilac and white color, and the wallpaper was carried through to the adjacent den. Two oval mirrors were placed to reflect further light into room.

Bilotta Kitchen & HomeThis clean and classic Northern Westchester kitchen features a mix of colors and finishes. The perimeter of the kitchen including the desk area is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Nordic White with satin chrome hardware. The island features Benjamin Moore’s Blue Toile with satin brass hardware. The focal point of the space is the Cornu Fe range and custom hood in satin black with brass and chrome trim. Crisp white subway tile covers the backwall behind the cooking area and all the way up the sink wall to the ceiling. In place of wall cabinets, the client opted for thick white open shelves on either side of the window above the sink to keep the space more open and airier. Countertops are a mix of Neolith’s Estatuario on the island and Ash Grey marble on the perimeter. Hanging above the island are Circa Lighting’s the “Hicks Large Pendants” by designer Thomas O’Brien; above the dining table is Tom Dixon’s “Fat Pendant”.
Just off of the kitchen is a wet bar conveniently located next to the living area, perfect for entertaining guests. They opted for a contemporary look in the space. The cabinetry is Yosemite Bronzato laminate in a high gloss finish coupled with open glass shelves and a mirrored backsplash. The mirror and the abundance of windows makes the room appear larger than it is.

Sew BeautifulThe backdrop for the perfect “staycation,” this spacious home in historic Ellicott City boasts inviting spaces for reading, watching movies and catching up with friends. An in-law suite, theater room and plenty of bedrooms provide a welcoming, resort style atmosphere.
Our collaboration with a Howard County interior designer challenged Sew Beautiful with 56 windows in rooms that each required window coverings with specific needs and functions. Planning for the custom window treatments began early in the building phase, offering opportunities for hard-wired automated shades.
The main living areas are dressed with Hunter Douglas Silhouette with Duolite sheer shades. Traditional draperies and valances add the finishing touches, framing the picturesque views. Silhouette and Duolite offer the best of both worlds for the bedrooms, with light control for privacy by day, and room darkening for sleeping.
