Moderniser une cuisine dans un intérieur à l'esprit Haussmannien n’est pas si simple. Il faut arriver à harmoniser deux styles pour n’en créer qu’un. Nous avons conservé ce sol sublime et travailler sur les hauteurs. 3 mètres sous plafond ce n’est pas rien ! Un coffrage avec des spots led a été installé. En plus des interrupteurs, une télécommande permet d’adapter la lumière aux besoins du moment. Des armoires de 2m85 habillent l’espace et offrent un maximum de rangements. Pour donner de la profondeur à la pièce, nous avons sélectionné des meubles Italiens sans poignées et une crédence en verre sur mesure de 3m50 de long. Tout est encastré à 100%, de la cuve en Inox très large, aux poubelles coulissantes de 40 litres en passant par le réfrigérateur combiné. Côté cuisson, nous retrouvons une plaque à gaz feu Wok associée à une hotte silencieuse et son filtre plasma. Comme le souhaitaient mes clients, il est désormais possible de déjeuner en tête à tête dans un espace épuré et lumineux. M & Mme Z sont très satisfaits du résultat et je les remercie d’avoir fait confiance à mon équipe pour transformer radicalement leur ancienne cuisine. Le projet Cardinal a été menée pour une famille expatriée qui faisait son retour en France. Nos clients avaient déjà trouvé leur architecte. Les plans de conception étaient donc prêts. Séduits par notre process rodé : ils se sont tournés vers notre agence pour la phase de travaux. Le 14 mai, ils ont pris contact avec nos équipes. Une semaine après, nous visitions la maison afin de faire un repérage terrain. Le 29 mai, nous présentions dans nos bureaux un devis détaillé et en phase avec leur brief/budget. Suite à la validation de ce dernier, notre conducteur de travaux et son équipe ont lancé le chantier qui a duré 3 mois. Au RDC, nous avons déplacé la cuisine vers la fenêtre pour que nos clients aient plus de luminosité. Ceci a impliqué de revoir les arrivées d’eau, électricité etc. A l’étage, nous avons créé un espace fermé qui sert de salle de jeux pour les enfants. Nos équipes ont alors changé la balustrade, créé un plancher pour gagner en espace et un mur blanc avec une petite verrière pour laisser passer la lumière. Les salles de bain et tous les sols ont également été entièrement refaits.

However, if the layout doesn’t work, especially if you have a small kitchen, then there’s no necessity to add in a kitchen island. You can add a breakfast bar or counter to your existing kitchen units, or stick with a good old-fashioned dining table if you don’t need the extra work surfaces. That said, if you do have the room, take a look at some kitchen island ideas to see if the designs inspire you for your kitchen. There are a huge variety of island designs to cater to different needs – you can have sinks, ovens, hobs, wine storage and all sorts of drawers and organisers built-in, you can have separate bars and counters that extend from your island, or you could go for a kitchen island on wheels to make your kitchen layout more versatile.

How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

When picking out kitchen units and cupboard styles for a fitted kitchen, you’ll first want to consider the more practical questions – how many units do you need? How many cupboards and drawers do you need? Do you need extra kitchen storage built into your units? It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Next you can consider kitchen cabinet style and colour. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh. Of course, grey kitchens are the neutral colour choice du jour and can be paired with pale and rich shades alike if you want your fitted kitchen cupboards to contrast with your worktop, splashback, floor, or all of the above.
