This home office/library was the favorite room of the clients and ourselves. The vaulted ceilings and high walls gave us plenty of room to create the bookshelves of the client's dreams. Photo by Emily Minton Redfield

Carly of carlyandsloan.com used two Annie dining chairs as seating in her feminine, chic studio space for photography and meeting with clients. The epitome of stylish, this transparent Annie dining chair puts an unique, modern spin on a timeless traditional design. Compatible with a wide range of decorating trends, it offers a hint of classic charm and major contemporary appeal.

This project shows how a small room can become a functional yet stylish home office. Finding the right size desk for its use and space is very important. We added shelving units for great storage and a place to showcase beautiful items, as well as a pull-out couch which provides a seating area or an extra bed for guests to sleep in. This is a great example of how to maximize the use of a space. Photo Credit: Allie Mullin

Vintage gold artwork and a modern gold wall sconce work together to add some refined bling to this organic maximalist 'Rainbow Poppy Meadow' wallpaper by Rebel Walls. Also featured here is a tall white Wayfair cabinet to help with office storage. The vertical height is always welcome in a small space and the space below the cabinet is great for even more storage if needed. The cane feature on the cabinet was received with the original wood, but we added some of the white-wash paint used in the upcycled chairs, to slightly tone down the yellow in the natural wood fibers and allow it blend a bit more cohesively with the office guest chairs (not shown here, but across the room).

We had so much fun with this space! We have a faux snake skin on the walls, a custom fruit-stripe zebra rug from Stark Carpets, custom pillows, bone inlay tables and a leather sleeper sofa

ASID 2018 DESIGN OVATION SINGLE SPACE DEDICATED FUNCTION/ SECOND PLACE. The clients requested professional assistance transforming this small, jumbled room with lots of angles into an efficient home office and occasional guest bedroom for visiting family. Maintaining the existing stained wood moldings was requested and the final vision was to reflect their Nigerian heritage in a dramatic and tasteful fashion. Photo by Michael Hunter

Gorgeous thick alpaca 'confetti' fabric by Rosemary Hallgarten adds an unexpected cheeriness to these upcycled office chairs. Originally sourced on the 'free' section, they were stained orangey brown and destined for the landfill. Their redeeming quality: modern square lines, solid oak, solidly built and in solid condition. Just needed a little TLC to get them out of their masculine ways and with a little elbow grease (and a luxury fabric budget), we transformed these gems into a pair of lovely feminine office guest chairs welcoming all who enter this lady's lounge (aka home office). The HON filing cabinet, originally in it's industrial state of grey would not fit into the new 'girle' scheme of the updated office. Instead, we opted to source some graphical vinyl wallpaper and give it a refresh to help it fit in. As well, sourced a vintage onyx piece of stone from an old coffee table and had it squared-off, fit just to size, adding both an organic and luxurious element to the space. The Kate Spade ceiling light plays off the floral wallpaper (not shown here) and also adds a nod of 'girlie' to the peaceful adult girl room.
