I created a larger dining terrace for the client to allow for their expanding family. This also included a better proportioned path to access the terrace.
The design included a bespoke wooden pergola hung from the side of the garage and with tensioned training wires for the wisteria and clematis to climb up and over and help provide dappled shade.

We were asked to design and plant the driveway and gardens surrounding a substantial period property in Cobham. Our Scandinavian clients wanted a soft and natural look to the planting. We used long flowering shrubs and perennials to extend the season of flower, and combined them with a mix of beautifully textured evergreen plants to give year-round structure. We also mixed in a range of grasses for movement which also give a more contemporary look.

The design included raised wooden beds. One area dedicated to growing their own fruit and veg and the other to pollinator friendly planting. these beds are easy to access and also helped to deal with the slope in the area, allowing the creation of a more level lawn area for children to play on.

Natural stone laid in a random pattern forms a generous seating area, then it breaks up to form a loosely planted gravel area to soften the hard edges of the garden. A cantilevered oak bench alongside a compact slate water feature forms the central focal point from the living room windows. From the covered gazebo on the upper level the client enjoys views across the length of the garden to the wider landscape beyond.
Sprouted Slopes
A firepit area was requested, and much needed. There was an existing patch of native trees and plantings which created the perfect pocket for a firepit area to feel like you are submersed in nature. Next to the firepit is the play area. Artificial turf was chosen as the material because it is extremely low maintenance, and is a nice soft cushion for the kids to play on.

This front garden got overgrown and too crowded over time so plants were divided, moved and trimmed. We expanded the garden, moved the path for two reasons, to create a sunny cottage garden next Spring and make room for more Halloween decor.

A village council in the Cotswolds commissioned a public garden for local residents to reconnect with nature and grow with the community. Bordering a large woodland, an uncultivated and unloved landscape, overgrown with nettles and brambles, was to be transformed into a multi-sensory garden. Opportunities for learning, a ‘grow your own’ lifestyle, and cross-generation social bonding underpinned our design.
