The brief of this project was very clear and simple. The clients wanted to transform their overgrown and non functional back yard to a usuable and practical space. The location is in Rye, Vic. The solution was to build tiered retaining walls to stabilize the slope and create level and usuable platforms. This proved challanging as the soil mostly contains sand, especially here on the lower end of the peninsula, which made excavating easy however difficult to retain the cut once excavated. Therefore the retaining walls had to be constructed in stages, bottom wall to top wall, back filling and stabilizing the hill side as the next wall got erected. The end result met all expectations of the clients and the back yard was transformed from an unusable slope to a functional and secure space.

This wonderful property along the North Norfolk coastline is a hidden gem – and with the help of six Executive Power Screens, our customers have perfected outdoor living. Let’s explain how. An inviting swimming pool takes centre stage in a large patioed outdoor space. Either side of the pool is an outdoor kitchen/bar and a dining area – both of which look out over a wonderful garden, stretching out to a river. The homeowners wanted to stop insects from entering their poolside bar and dining areas and required a solution that wouldn’t compromise on architectural design. Knowing we’re the experts in insect screens, they got in touch. Six Power Screens were installed – four around the dining area, and two cloaking the kitchen/bar. The chosen mesh for this project was 2360 charcoal, which provides insect protection and additional privacy (90% UV block, 10% open). The screens were fitted in head boxes externally to the poolside bar and internally to the dining area, all controllable by Somfy remote controls. Power Screens were the perfect solution for this project. Our customers were particularly impressed with how the clean, slick lines of the screens made them discreet but feel like they were always part of the design. This modern outdoor living space has now been upgraded, allowing the homeowners to get the best from their garden. Importantly, when deployed, the screens transform the poolside bar and dining area from an open outdoor feature, to a cosy ‘indoor’ space – at the touch of a button.
