Sunspace Design, Inc.Traveling to the heart of Avon, Connecticut, Sunspace Design introduced a timeless addition to a gorgeous residence — a breathtaking hip style glass roof system. The project features a 14’ x 20’ skylight, elegantly framed in mahogany. The large frame was assembled in advance at the Sunspace Design workshop, and installed with the help of crane-powered operation after being delivered to the site. Once there, our team outfitted the glass roof system with exceptionally performant SolarBan PPG 70 insulated glass.
A collaboration between Sunspace Design and DiGiorgi Roofing & Siding was instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Sunspace Design, with its expertise in specialty glass design, led the charge in crafting, designing, and seamlessly installing the bespoke glass roof system. DiGiorgi Roofing & Siding, serving as the capable general contractor, carefully prepared the wood frame walls and structural components in advance, providing a flawless setting for the glass roof construction. This harmonious collaboration between specialty glass artisans and skilled contractors demonstrates the great result achieved when expertise converges through teamwork.
This skylight marries artistry and functionality. The mahogany framing provides a timeless allure, and the insulated glass ensures excellent performance through four seasons of New England weather thanks to its thermal and light-transmitting properties. Other features include a custom glazing system and copper capping and flashing which serve as crowning touches that heighten beauty and boost durability.

New England Sunrooms & Conservatories, Inc.This classic architecturally significant Newton home built in the 1920’s had an outdoor porch over the garage that was nice but rarely enjoyed due to wind, snow, cold, heat, bugs and the road noise was too loud. Sound familiar? By adding the Four Seasons 10’ x 18’ Georgian Conservatory the space is now enlarged and feels like outdoor space that can be enjoyed year round in complete comfort thanks to the Exclusive high performance and sound deadening characteristics of patented Conserva-Glass with Stay Clean Technology. We also added some of window walls system under the adjacent space to enclose new and existing areas.
By working collaboratively with the homeowners and their carpenter, who did the site work and finish work, we were able to successfully get the best design, quality and performance all at the lowest price. Stay tuned for future finished photos with furniture and tasteful decorating for a drop dead gorgeous retreat. This Georgian Conservatory is sure be this nice family’s favorite room in the house!
Peterlee GlassThis bi-folding tinted glass screen is a stylish and contemporary entrance to our client's conservatory.
Sunspace Design, Inc.The client was looking to expand an area off of their existing kitchen in order to create a space for dining and relaxation. Unfortunately, the location of the kitchen at the rear of the home meant that any expansion would create a darker kitchen than the client wanted. Enter Sunspace Design. We suggested the use of a glass roof complete with triangular windows to maximize the levels of much needed natural light. This design would allow for the light to flood the new addition, but also penetrate into the existing kitchen and transform the quality of that space as well.
The client’s existing kitchen design was a variation of the “cabin” or country aesthetic, so Sunspace used its natural wood system. This allowed the frame of the glass roof to be stained to match the surrounding style. We are proud of the flexibility of our products when used in conjunction with standard types of construction. Our designs are tailored to achieve whatever goals the clients might have. And because we only use windows from the top US manufacturers, we’re able to pair these designs with stunning levels of natural light. The result is a space that can completely revitalize a home’s atmosphere.
Our use of high performance glass treatments provides us with an important degree of control over both the light levels and the solar gain of a space. This enables us to establish a comfortable year-round environment; our spaces are capable of being efficiently heated or cooled as the seasons dictate. We’ve been in the business for a long time, and we can say with confidence that our glass designs allow any type of addition to become the favorite focal point in anyone’s home.
