Soft colourful plantings along the pathway, seasonal interest begins in early spring and the planting is still colourful in late summer.

A new elevated screened porch created the need for color while inside the home. Window boxes were installed.

In south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio. Angles create drama and direct flow to the steel stairs and gate. Installed June, 2014.

They went from an all gravel yard to this in a few weeks...buy ordering xeric modern preplanned garden online (with a customization). And turned their stone yard back into a green water-once-a-week kinda space. Bocce ball court in progress at center. Succulents galore!

Go Bold or Go Home!
With brilliant hues of foliage and flower, bromeliads explode with bursts of color in tropical or other colorfully themed spaces. Versatility is where this plant shines as it can easily be combined with other flora such as succulents and ferns. This unique species can often convey a primal, even prehistoric feel with its basic, bold bright colors and rough, oversized foliage. A delight to the eyes, brilliant bromeliads will stand out with style!

Another type of pond less water feature with the base underneath the dectitive pebble. This one is more of a formal look with a simple copper pipe going up the middle to create a soft bubbling effect. The pump is low voltage and only requires 30 watts to run so quite an efficient system. Surrounded by a beautiful bed of gebras is a great way to have a low to no maintenance water feature in your landscape.

An under-performing lawn is replaced by this contemporary floating deck which creates indoor-outdoor flow and an outdoor room for dining and relaxing. Plantings are structural and low maintenance with the ability to add seasonal colour for an easy change of look. Planting below the deck adds to the feeling that the deck is 'floating '

This yard started with dead grass, no irrigation to the back planter, water seeping through the block wall and the yard felt small.
We removed all grass, removed the dirt in the planter, tar backed the wall and added a valve and PVC line for irrigation. We then started the new design incorporating small moundings with a natural path and low water use plantings. Deana M. Chiavola

Blackened larch cladding references the industrial heritage of this former Miner's cottage. The wildflower meadow reaches out to the countryside beyond.

Just to shake things up, Purple Wandering Jew (Tradescantia pallida 'Purple Heart') provides a strong contrast to the warm colors. A small redleaf Japanese Maple that was struggling in the back yard will eventually soften the view of the raised wood fence.
