The Treehouse is the home I share with my daughter Miss Noa. It is our sanctuary and our refuge, our playhouse and our house of rest. It is carved out of the roof of a 100 year old craftsman home, so the spaces are all unique, and intimate, which I love. The colors I chose for the space are all slightly weathered as though they spent years in the sun. The vibe is bohemian, with all sorts of collected (Faith) and created (Noa) art. I have a passion for small spaces- they are just fun and playful, so to accentuate the element of play in the space we painted the ceiling with circus tent stripes in muted tones and turned my bedroom into a bedouin tent! Blues and sands from the living room are carried through the apartment into the formal dining area. A custom designed table, mirror, and buffet adorn the space. A soft beige marble top sits upon the table base.

The home owners wanted to create a place for a wide screen TV, concealed; as well as a place for their extensive book collection. We achieved this with custom cabinets, surround sound and new furniture, window treatments, carpet & area rug. A pair of custom framed panels display an original metal sculpture, that slides open to reveal the TV. The fireplace was surfaced with a large slab of marble to compliment the contemporary design. Recessed halogen lighting was installed in the ceiling in the living room area. The adjacent dining area also received new furniture, lighting and built-in cabinets for storage. The wall between the 2 rooms was perfect for the vinette created. New shear blinds were installed on the windows and sliding doors.

The dining room received a glam makeover with the goal to combine the traditional bones of the home with a more modern style of the clients, while also re-purposing several pieces. The custom table top is made from reclaimed wood flooring, laid in a herringbone pattern. The vintage metal chairs were reupholstered in 2 fabrics. The vintage chest was a family piece, and much more traditional than they client's style. However, we mixed the chest with their more modern pieces and picked up the gold accents from the chest on the ceiling and wall. A grey and gold wall paper is framed with gold borders to create a focal wall. A modern take on a traditional crystal chandelier finishes off the room for the perfect blend of styles. The window next to this one has a transom at the top. To re-direct your eye and allow each room to have it's own charm the double rods fill in the space and give the illusion of more height. This custom window design disguises the fact that this window is short.
