Three apartments were combined to create this 7 room home in Manhattan's West Village for a young couple and their three small girls. A kids' wing boasts a colorful playroom, a butterfly-themed bedroom, and a bath. The parents' wing includes a home office for two (which also doubles as a guest room), two walk-in closets, a master bedroom & bath. A family room leads to a gracious living/dining room for formal entertaining. A large eat-in kitchen and laundry room complete the space. Integrated lighting, audio/video and electric shades make this a modern home in a classic pre-war building.

Removing the tired, old angled shower in the middle of the room allowed us to open up the space. We added a toilet room, Double Vanity sinks and straightened the free standing tub.

Marble slabs on both the floor and shower walls take this sumptuous all-white bathroom to the next level. The existing peek-a-boo window frames the San Francisco bay view. The custom built-in cabinetry with a pretty vanity and ample mirrors allow for perfect makeup application. The bespoke fixtures complete the look.

This Georgian property is in an outstanding location with open views over Dartmoor and the sea beyond.
Our brief for this project was to transform the property which has seen many unsympathetic alterations over the years with a new internal layout, external renovation and interior design scheme to provide a timeless home for a young family. The property required extensive remodelling both internally and externally to create a home that our clients call their “forever home”.
Our refurbishment retains and restores original features such as fireplaces and panelling while incorporating the client's personal tastes and lifestyle. More specifically a dramatic dining room, a hard working boot room and a study/DJ room were requested. The interior scheme gives a nod to the Georgian architecture while integrating the technology for today's living.
Generally throughout the house a limited materials and colour palette have been applied to give our client's the timeless, refined interior scheme they desired. Granite, reclaimed slate and washed walnut floorboards make up the key materials.
Zola European Windows
Zola Windows played a crucial role in helping to embrace and engender the “Passive House” construction standard, allowing a landmark protected large commercial building to be transformed into an architecturally precise, low energy, high performance masterpiece. For 60 White Street, a brand new class of window was developed that pushes the technological envelope while faithfully replicating the look appropriate for a 146 year-old historic edifice. Zola’s American Heritage SDH (Simulated Double Hung) window helped create a well-insulated, draft free building envelope akin to a thermos bottle. This award-winning, replica-quality window boasts industry-leading airtightness and thermal performance, coupled with craftsmanship that is befitting of even the most detailed historic restorations.

A partial renovation of the bathroom brought tremendous results. We pulled the vanity out in the bath and replaced it with one of our signature custom space saving vanities with recessed toilet paper holder and storage cabinet over the toilet. We also added a Robern medicine cabinet with much more storage, much needed electrical outlets, and enclosed the tub / shower in glass.
Design Tip: By leaving the existing stone tiles and fixtures in place, we were able to conserve budget and apply it to the high-end finishes in the amazing open kitchen and living room transformation.
