The dining table was changed to a Peruvian Limestone from the original teak table three years after the initial install. Teak requires regular maintenance and the elements damage lovely finishes. Limestone is a beautiful alternative. We also reduced the dimensions of the table to allow more space for dining and flow.

10m2 ! Petite surface mais gros défi pour ce balcon où chaque mètre carré devait être repensé et réinventé pour y créer une cuisine d'été, un coin repas et un espace détente. Sans oublier des solutions de rangements et deux objectifs : faire de cet extérieur une vraie pièce supplémentaire, et impacter positivement la clarté à l'intérieur de l'appartement. Les couleurs de l'ensemble, sobres et lumineuses (déclinaison de blanc cassé, de beige et d'écru) sont réveillés par des touches de vert olive (banquette et crédence). Côté matériaux, de l'enduit à la chaux, du carrelage façon bejmat, du bois et des fibres (de coco et de jute) ont été mixés pour rester dans une ambiance méditerranéenne. Enfin, des arrondis (banquette sur-mesure et éléments de mobilier) ont été intégrés pour casser l'aspect très rectiligne et favoriser l'optimisation de l'espace. Ce balcon est désormais 100% optimisé. Il ne reste plus qu'à profiter de la vue imprenable sur les toits marseillais du quartier d’Endoume.

How do I make the most of my balcony?

A balcony can be the smallest of the terraces and outdoor spaces, but, unless you have a juliet balcony, you’ll still be able to make the most of it with a few design touches, here and there. If you like to throw open your balcony doors and let the light and air flow in, you could think about extending your room out onto the balcony with balcony furniture that matches the interiors or colours of your room. Smart furniture, neat balcony planters and coffee tables will make you feel like you’ve brought the indoors outdoors. If you have a glass balcony or a balcony with rails that looks out over a street or nearby neighbours, then you may want to shield your balcony terrace from prying eyes. It’s a shame to block out the edges of a balcony completely, so consider potted plants or high balcony planters to act as a shield. The leaves and flowers of your plants will obscure the view onto your balcony but still let in light and air. For small balconies, look for slim furniture, such as slim console tables, benches and shelves so you can still display ornaments, plants and knick knacks but without cluttering the space too much.
