Cassandra, the funny thing is when I go round to my bf's I happily sit on a green perspex and chrome bar stool while he mixes me a cocktail at his almost-island (peninsula)! I am nothing if not inconsistent :-)

And still no joy posting photos. I've tried doing it without a comment as well. It comes up 'ghosted' each time and can't be submitted. Previously you could watch the % of upload increasing before it went 'boom'. Done!

Well Sam, I have 'liked' and admired some kitchen renos that include them but it depends on many factors. Among other things, I like the homely aspects of a table and chairs and for some it ain't easy so getting on or off them. (You'd have to read the post which was quite funny). But these vast, expansive, invariably white, extended, soulless kitchens complete with wall to wall cabinets and islands are a huge No, No in my book. Give me imaginative. Give me character. Give me innovative. Give me different anyday... The cookspaces of today are looking so samey - rip out its guts, knock down the walls and build unit after unit to keep everything out of sight.... I reality they're often a mess with stuff piled on their islands etc. I see many such on my travels!
