Paulmk17 Try planing hanging and drawer storage along the two parallel walls and put hanging shoe storage on the perpendicular one. You should end up with all of your space being accessible and functional.

One of our spare rooms is serving as a wardrobe room, simply because there isn't any fitted storage in the house yet.
Basically a room with the floor-standing mirror, chests of drawers and clothes railings.
I cannot wait to get the fitted wardrobes WITH the doors, as the open shelves and and clothes are exposed and they get really dusty. I lived in the apartments with amazing walk in open wardrobes in the past and really disliked them. We live in the green area, amongst the nature reserves, so no air pollution nor farm fields, so it is not as bad as could be, but still! And no way I store our shoes in bedrooms, all that dirt and sweat.

I never, ever, put shoes in the same cupboard as clothes. In a confined space, the smell from shoes seeps into the clothes. Best to keep them apart.
