Considering the room’s neutral palette and your preference for avoiding an all-grey scheme, why not introduce soft pastel or jewel tones through textiles and accents? Incorporating your blush chair and dressing table adds a personal touch and aligns with the Victorian/Edwardian cosy theme.

You could also layer in rich textures like velvet or wool to bring warmth and depth, and consider classic wall panelling or floral motifs to tie in those period details you love.

I think a lovely wallpaper on the back wall with a hint of pink would look lovely. Then paint the rest of the walls to tie in with it if necessary. Grey is a good neutral and can certainly be pepped up with a bit of colour, whether it’s pink, yellow or green. Or maybe panel that back wall which will certainly add some character.

If your clothes are going to be downstairs then consider if this is the best bedroom for you- would this be better as a guest room?

If you are decorating this room consider adding in some or the things you find in the rest of the house- for instance coving and fireplaces aren’t going to work but you could add wall panelling and a dado rail, a deep skirting board and add architrave around the window.

Hi Jess! You've got a lovely open-space bedroom that has some much potential. We think adding a feature wall behind the bed will give the room a pop of colour and create a beautiful focal point.

Depending if you're keeping with the traditional neutral colours you can choose a mural that has light textured tones or if you want a more vibrant interior design we think a bold mural will go perfectly here.
