Just need some advice please on whether or not to have an upstand as shown in the picture? We would like to install some tiles as shown in the red area… Do you think the tiles should be installed on top of the upstand or should we remove the upstand and tile from the base of the worktop upwards? Any advice appreciated… Many thanks…
Option 2 - remove the upstand if using tiles and if you can do it easily. Some do tile above an upstand but I think it looks a bit clunky? I tried to find images and this is the only one I found, so I think that says a lot.
Another vote for getting rid of the upstand. I agree it finishes off the worktop but only if there is no other wall treatment such as tiles. In that case it looks like and afterthought and a poorly considered job
