Fine Cracking in Plaster

Hi,

I am redecorating a 1960's home, in one bedroom I have removed the old lining wallpaper from the walls to discover the plaster has various levels of cracking. The majority of the cracks are very fine across entirety of the the walls. Shown in the first 2 pictures. Then one wall has bigger cracks. I would like to paint the walls without using lining paper. Can anybody help me with how to prepare the walls to allow for painting that wont then show up the cracks? I know with larger cracks they will need to be filled but on the very fine ones will a few mist coats prevent the cracks from coming through the end finish?

thanks
