Any ideas what colour to go on this hallway wall?

Looking to have a. It of a feature wall in my wall way. I already have a shoe storage with a gold pebble mirror to also go on the wall. But first thing is getting the right colour paint on the wall.
I did have a turquoise/teal idea in mind. But open to ideas.

I do also plan to keep rest of the hallway as is with a white colour.

Any ideas what colour should go on the wall?
FYI oainting will be abuve ti shoe stirage and to the right of the door

Sarah L's pic of the beautiful teal walls is balanced by a great deal of white including a very pale carpet. It would look completely different if the carpet was as dark as the one in your pic. I would chose the light grey paint for balance. You could always get a huge bright artwork later.

I would stay away from dark colours unless you are changing the floor covering? A light grey or neutral maybe?

I agree deepen the color, don't change it and yes art art art! maybe lessen the presence of the brick with the earlier suggestion of the metal cogs its and use traditional artwork pics/nature/paintings on the painted wall. I also like the idea to paint the part of the wall that juts out in a darker shade of the same color. Now you have lots to consider and lots to dismiss as well. Good luck and have fun

Carpet on the stairs will help with sound! But if stairs are good enough, just paint them all white! Add a stencil on the riser - numbers or a saying is always fun...or even add family member names. Do you like bold colors? If so, the handrail wall could be a green apple. Something that works w the pretty stain glass. Also upstairs, there looks to be space to make that a built in bookcase. As for under the stairs, you can take out studs but you can build deep shelves and give it a stair step look. If you have large gym bags, make some large enough to fit sliding them in. Whenever we put in storage like that, we add plugs for iPads and cellphones. Easy way to remember to charge them! Also, a narrow bench on wall opposite storage will help w putting on shoes.

Slipper Satin, Stoney Ground or shaded white are the recommended complimentary colours but if you really want a grey you could try strong white. I've got French Gray Units which isn't a million miles away from Mizzle and I've used Dulux Egyptian Cotton on the walls, it's definitely grey (although doesn't look it on colour chart) but got a beige undertone so would work with your flooring.

A dark colour on that wall would make the space look smaller and squashed. I would do a lighter colour - try to tie in the colour with something you plan to put into this space - use a colour from the picture you will be putting up.

I think teal is too dark. I think maybe get a few testers and try them out. I would really keep it very light to balance the floor. The alternative is getting a lighter rug to lay over the carpet.

Your floor is so dark, a brighter colour would be better and in your wall design you can use the floor colour as an accent

Inspo pic: for the wooden boards - paint them teal colour and above that keep it pale-ish colour e.g light mossy green-grey / grey / cream / off-white colour (so as to not match with ceiling)

There are lots of softer shades which will go nicely such as Dulux Egyptian Cotton, any of the pale greys such as Goose Down or lovely pale taupes or sage greens. Problem with such dark colours in a hall is they can be depressing after a while. I painted my dark hall in Pigeon and it was so grim I hated it! I’ve had it repainted in pale grey and I love it.

The teal examples shared by others have a lot of natural light. Your hallway appears to have none. Whilst I’m not a fan of pale and subtle normally I would steer clear of painting the wall teal and go with a lighter colour as suggested. If you want to introduce some teal maybe a runner or some art work?

Whilst there may be less light coming into your hallway you can have a pale / brighter shade of teal. If Loki read my comment, they would have realised I am suggesting painting the bottom half of the wall teal and painting the top a pale colour to help keep the room bright.

A pale colour by itself will make the hallway very plain. Adding teal hall boards for example will keep the hallway bright but add some colour and simple design to the room. (Loki please do not come at me with sarcasm - I only said that as you quoted me about painting the wall teal which is not what I suggsted)

I have more inspo pics as some people have expressed that the hallway is dark. As I said above you can go for a brighter shade of teal to brighten the hallway. There is a teal colour chart which ranges from dark to light teal.Also I found a picture of a darker hallway.

As for the wooden boards. I won’t be going for this just yet. I plan to paint the wall for now.

I also like the green ish colour sent by Sonia. I will check my nearest shop for a colour similar and try on the wall. I will the decide between the greenish grey and teal but I’ll look to have a light colour as generally suggested by everyone. I agree a lighter colour would be nice in an often dark hallway.

Thanks for help everyone! Really helped on my first modification. I’ll be sure to reply with final choice.

I’m sure I’ll be posting again once I’m looking to change the living too ;)

,Teal and brown don’t think so, why not carry a dark paint colour of the carpet up the wall halfway, section off the change of colour then paint up to the ceiling white, decorate the white area with large mirrors and artwork to your taste adding maybe shelf with hanging plants, floor lamp in each corner. Dark carpet is ok in a hall area just be careful what you put next to it hence the colour follow on.

Thats what I meant when I showed pics of the hallways, I didn’t mean for you to add wooden boards in to your house. I was only trying to illustrate the change of colours up the wall. Sorry I realise I didnt explain that very well!

Try it you obviously love the teal. It's only paint if you hate it you can paint over it with a lighter colour. It's your hallway you should have what you want. I like the middle colour but its also the darkest.

KDM, if you liked the sage green I can suggest F&B Cromarty, I have it in my living room, or maybe Dulux Tranquil Dawn. Oval Room Blue is a lovely soft greeny-blue which is just gorgeous.

In addition you can also purchase stick on wall-paper (easily removeable) to add texture and a touch of Teal you are looking for if you decide not to go too dark!
