Help with small extension
We’ve recently bought our dream home, we love it. But we are wondering about adding a very small extension at the back to the side of the current dining space, which is just slightly too narrow for comfort (family of five and we entertain a lot). The extension would only be 70cm x 300cm and we would probably like a bifold door so that we can accesss the garden. We live in Norfolk. Has anyone done anything similar and if so; what were the costings? Or if anyone has any advice it would be greatly received. Thanks a lot in advance.

3 months agoThanks Isla, I think you’re right on all fronts. I’ll post a ’blurry’ picture from the back which shows the roof shape, I think it will need to be a flat roof, possibly glazed, which is going to add to the cost!

I would suggest the shoe storage from Ikea with the flip down front is that a radiator in the hall where the stuff is sitting on top if not that is where the shoe storage could go with some nice hooks above for the coats that are used each day. Can the double buggy not be parked outside with a clear plastic cover to protect it instead of in this very small space....See Moreneed help with our extension

Also, as jonathandb1972 said, any plans would be greatly appreciated here, so there is something to work with. If no plans available, even a crude drawing will be useful to help visualise the layout. What style would you like to achieve? (contemporary, country etc.). You said you'd like the extension to incorporate your current kitchen. What else would you like to have there, as it is going to be 2 storeys extension? Bedroom with en-suite?
