Our kitchen company say we need a fridge with sliders not fixed door on door. Think this is called an ‘in-frame’ unit.
Any tall food fridge recommendations? Had wanted a tall Bosch fridge without freezer but not many with slider hinges.

Difficult question to answer. I inherited a cheap Cable built in fridge freezer with slider doors. The capacity is severly restricted and I am dreading any kind of malfunction. I added a Bosch freestanding fridge/freezer 600 wide with 70/30 and its a far superior brand but also not huge. Does it have to be integrated? You will get better capacity with freestanding set into a housing. Not as neat in appearance but far better functionality. In case of breakdown or problems its also much easier to service, repair etc. It is your choice but I would chose function over aesthetics everytime as repair services have become a nightmare lately. Have you looked at Liebherr?

Tall fridges, freezers and fridge freezers all fit inside a tower cabinet and there are 2 ways that the facia doors are fixed to the appliance doors, they are either fixed with sliders [and the facia doors are hinged off the cabinet] or they hang off the appliance door only and are fixed door.

There's little difference to the capacity between one method and the other. By the sounds of it your kitchen company can't supply doors that haven't been drilled for hinge holes so they're insisting on having the slider version, but all you need to do is get some 35mm covercaps to fill the hinge holes, take the hinges off the carcase and you can then fit a fixed door model.

Bosch have 2 tall fridges at 1772mm available, ones with sliders and the other is a fixed door on their website.

In-frame has nothing to do with your fridge, thats something completely different.

Ok, first of all I think we have very similar tastes because I looked at the pics you tagged in your idea books, but this layout is not efficient at all. your working triangle is non existent and I think there is way too much crowded in one corner. The island is staring out into nothing, and definitely needs to be rotated 90 degrees and I think the shape looks like something you would see in a bar. I am currently doing my own kitchen in two shades of painted cabinetry and will post my drawings and actual images, and then some images that you might like. I think the sink and DW need to be in the island. The fridge needs to be integrated to avoid this much stainless steel since you clearly like a more eclectic, non modern look, and the hood can be more elaborate. I personally think a 48" range with a dramatic hood on that back will with the island turned the correct way will be a nice focal point for your kitchen. You could also do a microwave drawer in your island, that way you only see the range from the front. Also, where is your pantry? Where are you storing food? The second image is a range hood you will probably like The third and fourth are drawings of my kitchen, and the first is a painted on painted kitchen with whimsy you might like. I will attach photos of my project on an additional feed since 4 photos is the limit.

Has anyone used farrow & ball slipper satin with skimming stone & charleston grey? We are using skimming stone on perimeter units which is in L-shape and charleston grey on island with 'lagoon' silestone worktop in our new kitchen. House is a new build and very well lit, we have windows/sliding door on three sides of room. Apologies no photos as not installed yet. We have all lower units apart from two tall press areas to integrate fridge, cooker etc into and one wall hung press as didn't want to crowd wall. Also looking at wimborne white in F&B and Subtle in Colourtrend brand. Ideally would like a good neutral that would work throughout a large part of house if possible. Not too grey or cream. Love the colour and style of cabinets. The worktops are beautiful. The flooring is a bit wishy washy and I would prefer a chimney hood style extractor fan - even though this one is the same colour as the kitchen, to me it sticks out like a sore thumb. Personally, I like the 'working triangle' to be at the centre of the kitchen and the fridge freezer looks like an after thought, stuck on at the end, in this design.

Sliding door cupboard in a Shaker kitchen?

Hi, I am changing the shape of my kitchen to a U shape to maximise storage. I am hoping to put my utility machines and wall boiler behind sliding doors as pictured. This would also enclose the small window which only looks into my neighbour's kitchen! It was originally designed as a utility room so the window was never meant to be in the kitchen. Would this work in a Shaker kitchen? I will be getting Shaker presses in cashmere and the sliding doors would be in the same painted wood. The chrome surround of the sliding doors would match the chrome handles of the kitchen presses. The sliding doors would have a window next to it with presses underneath before the next tall unit starts so maybe that would visually separate the two styles? (The island will be gone and the fridge integrated). Bit worried it might look too contemporary in a Shaker kitchen. Any advice appreciated!
