It can be hard to tell from a photograph what kind of wood was used. In my opinion it looks like there is bead-board on the wall and ceiling but the closet itself appears to be a Melamine material. We manufacture systems like this and they can be available in a variety of finishes.
The house uses a palette of wood species; which varies in composition depending on the area of the house. The guest rooms use Douglas Fir for the walls, Hemlock for the ceilings, and White Oak for the floors. Alaskan Yellow Cedar was also used throughout the house, and on the exterior. All interior timber surfaces are oiled using Fantastic, by Naturhaus a green, non toxic oil. In the design of this house we minimized or eliminated the use of any toxic adhesives, paints, plastics or non-natural materials.
Hi RUF, Beautiful. Are the interior doors also vertical grain Douglas Fir ? Do you remember what's the brand and make of the door hardware (levers and hinges) ? Congrats -- very pretty! :)
The closet is beautiful. We are constructing a master suite and the designhas a wall of closets between the bathroom and the room. I had my doubts on how it would look but seeing this has taken care of that concern. I would like to know how high are the ceilings and the material of the closet doors. Abosolutely beautiful. Thanks
