Passage from bedroom corridor to living room through an open kitchen

Hello to all,
I have a challenge to connect the bedroom corridor (C1 in the plan) to the living/dining room (4) in the plan.
The plan is this:
The kitchen is room number 5 and I see two options:
1) Create a corridor almost to the living room
2) A more open approach like this one (sorry for the amateurism) that has a visual break but a more open kitchen:
I cannot decide the best approach... any thoughts/ideas? Problems/Benefits?
