Yes and the client loves it. If you go too deep with you pantry you can lose things in the back.

Hi all! I am a collector of dolls. Have approx 650 in total. Approx 250/300 are out of their boxes - majority are collector dolls but about 80 are played with dolls that I may use in diorama's. The loose dolls stand at about 13" including stands... The rest of the dolls are boxed and are varying heights, depths, colours, etc... Looking for advice on how to best show them in a room? I have some glass cabinets from Ikea which are ideal for the loose dolls but not for the boxes...and would work out too expensive...so was thinking of putting them in middle of room...? Windows are not ideal but can be changed at this stage. Window on back wall is a long narrow window high up in room (not a normal window). I didn't want windows but engineer insisted. kitchen design dilemma

Hello everyone! I would love some advice on how to design the kitchen in our new build. As you can see from the design there is a long 4 m window at the front of the house. This will be quite low and will be 50 cm high, so basically it will act a bit as a splash back. So my question is: can I fit in 4 tall cabinets in the kitchen (1 for oven- 60 cm, 2 as pantry - 60 cm each and 1 for the fridge-80 cm)? I am starting to think I need to shorten that window as I would like the keep the feel of the kitchen bright and airy with an island with seating without over crowding the space and not blocking the passage into the living room on the left? Thoughts anyone? Ps: please disregard the design suggestion on the plan, it was put down in the first draft by the architect.

We are in the process of renovating our kitchen, including knocking through into the dining room and adding french doors from the dining room to the garden. It's west facing and doesn't get huge amounts of sunlight. I'm trying to figure out what to do about lighting. We have 3 pendants that will go over the peninsula but otherwise no lighting decisions - although as we are redoing the ceiling, recessed spots seem like a good idea. The kitchen cabinets will be pale grey high gloss, with an oak worktop. Other than the oven cabinet and the freezer/fridge/pantry wall, there are no high cabinets. My main issues are: where to place spots centre light in dining area: we tend to move the table depending on season/events/mood so don't necessarily want to be stuck with a pendant light that only works best directly above the table do I need spots interspersed with the pendants over the peninsula (they are heavy ceramic so will likely not cast much ambient light). It will be my main baking/food prep area so light will be important. (General plan of kitchen - not entirely to scale but gives a good idea of plans. About 30 sq m in total - the long wall with window and french doors is about 7 m)

Hi there, we're in the process of renovating our kitchen. We've painted our kitchen presses and breakfast bar ivory (previously pine) and walls taupe. We have a very high (internal) cooker wall and have been thinking about how to finish this. I originally planned to do a run of tiles to bring it in line with height of fridge but think that would be too utilitarian. Have been thinking about installing an overmantle unit instead in line with pantry door with black subs but its a costly option for something that's largely decorative. Interested to hear what others think and if there are other options that would work well. Thanks!! PS my mock up is a bit rough - the unit would only be 300-350m deep so half the depth of the worktops.
