Living Rooms Home Decorating Design Dilemma

are these rugs too small?. what about the design and colour?

last year

I have borrowed this Beni O rug for my big living room. And another red carpet for my smaller living room.
Are they too small? How much bigger should they be?
Do people like the design or have other suggestions.
The big room is still work in progress in terms to dining table and art. And more chairs

The first one you could get away with. The second one is definitely too small just floating there. Rugs always look better with a bit of furniture on them.

Wow! I love this space!

It's really coming together. Go bigger, and place some of the rug under the sofa this will help to create a cosy feel.

Gorgeous sofas! Would you consider using the Thibaut print suggested by Judy G Designs in a soft fold Roman shade? You don't say how many windows there are in the room. But Straight edge on the bottom, outside mount, clean and simple. The print has enough activity.

@Norwood Architects took the words right out of my mouth. I too would not do the open shelves on the base cabinets with the clipped corner. Looks like you are going for a more modern kitchen and those don't fit the updated style I see here. As far as the double ovens, I would move them to the left one spot so they sit next to the first set of cabinets. I would also remove the last upper cabinet (on the right) and extend the open shelving. The shelves look dwarfed as they are now by the large wall of cabinets. Hopefully, removing a bank of upper cabinet and extending the shelves will help balance the proportions. I would also eliminate the shelves on the island too, but that's just more of a personal preference ;) Looks like it's going to be a gorgeous kitchen!

Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. It small But your cabin sink unit is a good idea as you have storage space and it looks neat. I have changed my bath many times to shower unit and it has leaked every time, some times it has been the plumbers fault or bad design then it was a visitor who let the water spill while showering the last time it flooded the insurers wanted the bathroom TANKED! meaning waterproof walls and floors. This is done by an experienced plumber contractor of repute! as the insurers said too many claims from too many people with bad waterproofing. the insurer said they would not insure again or any other clients who had not got their bathroom water proofed by expert plumber fitters. SO I have gone back to the Bath with a shower enclosed and found it tops for waterproof.
