Comments (16)Hi nick. Thanks. Yes, i have come to that realisation after being told it by everyone i speak to! So looking at hedging or other ideas for the side fences then shrubs / plants / flowers for the main parts. I'd be interested innyour ideas. On the other side if the fence, if you mean the road side, the footpath is right up against the fence. I'd say the footpath is maybe 1.5m wide, maybe a bit more....See MoreHow to improve this exterior?
Comments (22)What about 6 massive pots? Two one either side of the bay windows and one on either side of the front door. (I too have a massive gray gravel drive way. Trying to plant through the gravel brings on a whole other set of challenges. Pots are just more practical, for me anyway.) I love those trees in the lawn area.:) And the green trim. Also, how would that bright area around the front door look painted a shade a bit closer to the color of the brick and stone areas?...See MoreA 70 year old rose
Comments (3)If it were mine, I would cut it back so that the plant isn't trying to support so much plant tissue without root support. I would give it some kind of compost (probably chicken manure compost) and a layer of mulch. Root stimulator might be beneficial. Also, you could take a cutting of it and apply a rooting product in hopes of starting another plant, in case the rose bush doesn't survive. Don't give up yet! Neil Sperry's website and Facebook page (in the Notes section) has good information about successful transplanting. Good luck!...See Moremaking a 'move' decision and going for it
