En-suite dressing room design

We are considering removing the en-suite off bedroom two and using the space as a closet/ dressing room for bedroom one. Any suggestions on how best to do this please? Access from bedroom one or through the en-suite? En-suite will be replaced so can alter the layout. Measurements for the second en-suite are approx 165cm x 195cm

Great idea. I'd have door from bedroom to dressing room, and dressing room to ensuite. No door from bedroom to ensuite.

Because it has fewer windows consider having the main bedroom at the back

About your plumber saying "plumb layout is confirmed". That is a load of rubbish. It's fairly easy to move drains around (yes he might have to rip up some walls, but he can also do off-the-wall installations to avoid that). In a small bath proper placement is of the utmost importance!!! If you have the bathtub and shower next to each other that will be much better and then the glass separator idea should work. padmaramachandran's (see post above) setup sounds more reasonable to me as well (see first picture below). This is similar to your setup but as you have more space you could put in bath tub and shower where the picture only shows a bath tub. Also if you do it that way you could theoretically have a bidet or a wider wash basin (small double perhaps too). Example layout: Do you need a bathtub in the guest bath? If not you have a lot more room to work with. E.g. for a double wash basin and large walking shower and a bidet (2nd picture). Example of off-the-wall installation for toilet and bidet and a large walking shower. Finally if you ignore this advice and do it the way you planned ;) then I suggest you really thing about that glass separator. Doing it right will make a lot of difference (see 3rd picture). Hi Marie. It's difficult to tell how wide the room is but a round table could work at the foot of the stairs. Dress with a large bowl and plants/flowers etc. you could also try hanging 3 chandeliers or pendants down the hall. I would also have either 2 matching consoles opposite each other by the front door or keep your existing and add some seating opposite to create symmetry. I think if you were to dress the console with bigger items it would stand out more ie ginger jars on the bottom shelf, classic urns, plants etc on the top. Once you've got the basics done and budget permits, you can add further floor standing decorative pieces, a small chair etc. I think you definitely need some tall art by the front door though or even mirrors if you're not keen to add art

We have made room for an en-suite shower room to our guest room we went for the largest shower cubicle we could reasonably fit in. Found the nicest white tiles to make the best of the space. Fitted bifold shower screen feeling the space was too small for a wet room( too much drying off of the fittings and paddling water beyond the area). toilet opposite, and sacrificed on the basin, just a small wash hand basin. Our thinking being that these days people tend to shower rather than wash and the smaller basin works well for teeth cleaning and hand washing. it works well. Hope yours will too.

Need help decorating main bedroom

I am about to re-decorate main bedroom and need your help. Currently one wall has built-in wardrobes in Mahogany which I want to paint in a soft grey together with bedside lockers and dressing table. I would like one feature wall behind the bed head (bed head is a classic brass design which I want to retain unchanged) I was thinking of a wallpaper in possibly an aubergine colour; or maybe I should wallpaper the other two walls in aubergine and do something else behind the bed..... I really need your help I'm stuck. Also what colour/fabric should I have the curtains in? The room faces north-east and has a roomy en-suite fully tiled in tiny mosaic white tiles with a black/silver/glass mosaic tile border at dado rail height. Should both of these rooms blend into each other or does it matter?

I think it depends on how you live & how much work you want to do. If there are 2 adults using the room & each gets up at different times for work, then you may find it useful having the rooms interlinked so as not to disturb the other while getting ready rather than going between the dressing room & en-suite via the bedroom. In this case I’d agree with Sarah - door from bedroom to dressing room then through to en-suite. That way if the bathroom is in use, the dressing room can still be accessed. If you don’t need the rooms to be interlinked, then I’d probably have a separate door to each from the bedroom (opening into the bedroom) to maximise the space within the dressing room & the en-suite. It will also mean you won’t have to relocate / replumb the toilet or basin to fit in a door between the two spaces.

A door from the bedroom into the dressing room so that both spaces can be accessed separately and if you are having the en suite redone anyway, certainly get a connecting door between the two. You may have to pay out for bespoke furniture in the dressing room so you'll need to factor that in.

For even more flexibility, you might see if you can fit a door from the en suite into bedroom 2 too. Just for the rare occasions when it might be useful!
