First time poster looking for some advice on how to fill space

Good morning.
My name is Erica and I have recently found this forum :)
We are in the process or redecorating our living room and have a corner sofa that we have pushed up to our bay window area.
The only problem is, it leave quite a large gap between the bay window and sofa itself (200cm x 31cm) (L x W) and I have no idea what to do with this empty space.
I have thought about a slimline console unit/sideboard but don’t know whether this would prevent heat circulation from the radiator.
I currently have an old side table in the one corner but am completely clueless with things like this.
Any help would be much appreciated :)
