Shower enclosure - door or no door

We are renovating our bathroom and having a really tough time settling on a shower enclosure.
I prefer fully closed enclosures with a full door to avoid any splashes and wetness on the bathroom floor. However most of them have a lot of metal work and dont look minimal and modern at all.
Do walk in showers with an opening splash a lot? For example the ones with flapper doors..?

We got that set-up answer is no, don't have door flush with glass when showering just bring it in a inch or 2 nothing gets out.

I have that one in the pic - no not much splashing, bath mat at the exit so I guess that absorbs anything, but it’s not soaking wet. I guess they come in different lengths - the longer it is the less splashing will happen

http://houzz.com/photos/3642990 This link kind of demonstrates the use of mosaics and the mirror idea I thought may be cool. Obviously they are vertical but I think it would work either way. Any pics of your tiles? I have seen your other post and know your suite is 'traditional' but another thing to consider I guess is the cost of the mosaics. £££ using lots may mean a big dent in your budget.

Hi. I think the overall look is good. Large tiles do make a room feel bigger as the pattern is less busy however I've seen the hex tiles in small bathrooms and they seem to work as your inspiration pic shows. I would probably lose the flowers though if I'm honest. Do you want the window for light or ventilation? Could a decent extractor be sufficient? I'm thinking that back ŵall could look quite busy. Is there any opportunity to change the layout? Moving soil pipes can be a little costly but could the sink be moved although ideally the loo would be hidden round the corner. You can pick up some great looking vintage or vintage style taps on ebay although unsure if the quality of the repro ones, If the layout can't be changed maybe have a corner loo and ŵall hung trough sink and put some storage in on the rhs as you come through the door depending on how you plan for the shower to open

i have a small downstairs shower room that was a boiler room side of house Then I had an extension and changed to gas from oil boiler. I FITTED A SHOWER UNIT IN AND A LITTLE HAND BASIN MINNIE! ALSO A MOTER TOILET . THE SHOWER HAS A CURTIN SO I WOULD LIKE A SLIDE AROUND GLASS /PLASTIC DOOR SLIDING. Have you any advice where in Ireland I could find one IDEAS ALSO. WIDTH DOOR 33 DEBTH32INS.

We stayed in a hotel a few days ago with a shower screen with a flapper, like the one in your picture. I put a bath mat by the opening and that a set red the splashes. I found it awkward as the flapper only opened to 90°, leaving a narrow “corridor” to get out of. I usually dry in the shower, putting a dry foot at a time outside, but the flapper position made this impossible.

Not sure what I meant by set red the splashes! The mat soaked them up anyway, there were certainly some splashes.

I have that shower door on our downstairs bathroom and find it pretty good to minimise splashes but it does not eliminate them. We have a sliding one in our en-suite which totally eliminates splashes. Both doors are merlin.
