Help me choose a bed for guest room
Comments (30)Melissa, when I said footboard, I meant this. It has a portion of the bed that extends beyond the mattress edge. You posted a bed that had something at the foot section of the bed. By platform, I mean a bed that has a hard area and only a mattress on it. Like this. It does not extend beyond the edge of the mattress, but does not have a box spring. It is also lower to the ground. The picture you posted was a high profile bed and box spring. It was not on a typical bed frame. A standard bed frame, used with box spring and mattress looks like this. Virtually invisible and does not extend out beyond the mattress/box spring set. That being said, I'd recommend you get a headboard that is not too big for your space. Neither in height or depth (distance from the wall). I would also not get a mattress frame that extends beyond the size of the mattress. Sorry to have not been clear before....See Morechoosing window colour
Comments (2)I think maybe a mid grey would look good...especially if you chose one with green undertones to tie into the kitchen etc. It's also more maintenance friendly than white or cream...which get dirty very fast. You can see the kind of colour I mean in this picture...but if you feel the colour doesn't work on the inside you can always have a different one to the exterior!!...See MoreNeed help choosing the colour of my hardwood floor
Comments (3)Matt finish walnut will show pretty much everything...the yellow 'doodle hair will show everytime it lands. The good news is everything is so dark you will only see half of the dog hair. A ligher floor in a dark home will have the same effect as a dark floor in a well lit home. You might want to look at a floor that is stained (like white or European Oak) with a mid-tone brown (2 steps lighter than walnut) and you will have your crisp definition between wood and wall AND you will have a floor that is more forgiving with 'doodle curls. And be aware that many people find a matt finishe VERY hard to live with. It shows every hand print, paw print, nose print, "skin" print you can imagine. Skin oils are SHINIER than a matt finish = shows up every time a finger, toe, foot, dog pad hits the floor. Everytime. A satin is easier to live with....See MoreNeed help choosing the colour for the exterior of our alu-clad windows
Comments (0)As we are restricted to RAL colours and looking for pale blue with hint of grey can anyone suggest which shade to use? And what contrasting colour should we use for the front door?...See Moretim_baker921
