Help with downstairs flooring dilemma
Comments (1)You could do a black paint trim over the wooden bits. It would go with the work tops. But not so much with the creamy doors; Or get all of the kitchen units spray painted white? I think if you try to match the floor with the wood of the units in the kitchen you may leave yourself open to a mismatch or even just an overload of wood. I didn't feel there was enough black there as the island top kind of took me by surprise on first seeing it. But could you remove that granite altogether and see how it looks then? Maybe it's the black that's the problem not the wood at all...See Morekitchen design dilemma
Comments (0)Hello everyone! I would love some advice on how to design the kitchen in our new build. As you can see from the design there is a long 4 m window at the front of the house. This will be quite low and will be 50 cm high, so basically it will act a bit as a splash back. So my question is: can I fit in 4 tall cabinets in the kitchen (1 for oven- 60 cm, 2 as pantry - 60 cm each and 1 for the fridge-80 cm)? I am starting to think I need to shorten that window as I would like the keep the feel of the kitchen bright and airy with an island with seating without over crowding the space and not blocking the passage into the living room on the left? Thoughts anyone? Ps: please disregard the design suggestion on the plan, it was put down in the first draft by the architect....See Morebedroom design help
Comments (0)Hi guys, I’m at a loss of what kind of other furniture I can add in here. The chimney flute is so close to the bed that I can only fit one locker by the bed. Wondering what I can do with the other side as I have the chimney wall it’s just not even with the other side. I have a walk in wardrobe so I don’t need wardrobe space or anything but looking for suggestions on how to make this room more relaxing and zen for sweet dreams :)...See Morefront porch design help needed
Comments (0)We are in the process of finishing our house and our builder didn’t follow the plans for the front porch. The builder went 220ml higher at the top of the porch than what was on the plans. The house has 100 ml of external insulation so lowering it now would affect the external insulation but we’re now open to any suggestions to improving the appearance of the porch. We intend to put two bay trees on either side of the porch in the recess and an up/down light above each tree. There will be granite paving at the base of the porch. We are considering putting cedar or larch cladding in the recess surrounding the door. Should we request the builder to lower the top of the porch or would some sort of design feature such as the cladding in the recess be enough to improve the appearance?...See MoreRob Gowers
