Hi Zoe, I think I would have to agree with your sister! The right grey will look warm, whilst giving the room a fresh, clean feel. Farrow&Ball do some lovely ones, have a look at Elephant's Breath or Pavilion Grey. This colour scheme with wooden floors (natural or painted) would look wonderful. Injections of colour could then be added with soft furnishings. Hope this helps!

I'd go for a warm light grey picking out the colour in the stone fire surround - have a look at Little Green Paint company's Portland Stone it comes in three depths of colour and looks beautifully restful. Then dress it with natural plants!

Would suggest white! A warm white like wimbourne white. All of the most beautiful rooms in my house are painted white! Then add in some wall art and some plants.

Hi , I’m wondering if i could ask for a bit of advice on what colour should I paint this sitting room unit? should i blend the unit in with the mantle wall and paint it the same colour( Dulux chalky downs 3) or paint the lighter colour as the other walls( Dulux chalky down 6) As you can see i painted one door( Dulux chalky downs 5) but I think this colour does not suit. many thanks in advance
