We are doing up a flat, and as a first timer, I hadn't given the transition from the new floors to the stairs much thought. Does anyone have any advice on the two situations below? My thought is that it would be best to cover the existing nosing, but I am not entirely sure how to go about that. Maybe a square edge L bar, then fix on a half dowel wide enough to hide the existing tread?
