Entrance hall windows

Hi, looking for thoughts on our 3 entrance hall windows. How to style them to make the entrance more inviting?

Our hallway has three narrow windows in it- really torn what to add to them- plant pots, hanging plants, photos, hanging stained glass? What would look good from the inside but also the outside?

Hey there

Personally I would not add too much as they could end up looking too busy.

I would have considered a wood frame (getting rid of the overhang like in the image to make the windows look a bit more architectural. This would create interest from the outside as well. Not sure what your interior scheme looks like.

Hi, you have a lovely home! I read through your thread, and I like Dar Eckarts suggestion above the best. I think because of the symmetry of it as an H shaped house is symmetrical, and it would also keep the space looking decorated but still open and uncluttered which is what an entrance should be. Sorry, but I don't care for the bookcase idea in an entrance. I also noticed the masks you have, and think it would be great to decorate the space using them as inspiration. i was going to say tapestry or a glass mirrored effect, as well haha. or just a large painting that you will love to look at. your chandelier is very nice, but i've seen many with that kind of entrance, that they have those really long, pendent lighting, for a dramatic effect. but i'm thinking, you don't want to change that. or a giant clock. or one of those wall stickers. or animal heads haha. few ie attached

Hi there, First of all, what a lovely space - the floor tiles are a really gorgeous feature! With these windows, it really is up to you. Shutters are fantastic for creating a clean, uncluttered feel, while, as Colourhappy says, a Roman blind is a great way to add a luxurious feel. Both create a classic look that will never go out of style. Alternatively, as you say, curtains are a gorgeous choice. Floor length curtains would create a real sumptuous look, but you may want to consider how this might block your radiator, especially if you intend to open and close them regularly. Hello Mary, If it's an old fashioned style then I say show it off! People pay a lot for these... I would choose mirrors that have an antique feel if this is the feel of the house... Even ultra modern styled homes have period fittings and they work beautifully.. If the hall is small then perhaps you want to think of something that might continue down the hall... so maybe you buy a couple and space them accordingly... Choose something that has good dimensions according to the height of the hall... This will also throw light into it and give it a feeling of space... So the mirrors can be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing.. : ))

I agree keep it simple. Love Siblingz’s ideas of the wooden frame. Outside the first thing you see is the bins so if they can’t go elsewhere how about a bin store? You could have a large planter under the windows?

The three windows from inside make me think of a tryptic, so how about framing them with a pair of long curtains, to pull back to right and left? If the rail is high up a sweeping curtain swag could look great, and nicely frame the view.
