We have bare white walls on the staircase going to the loft extension. We would like to paint the walls and ceiling using darker and lighter shades of the same colour. Any suggestion on where to use the darker shades? Thanks, Cristina
I like to see a white ceiling but you have a large headroom height so l might be tempted to go for a darker ceiling and then one wall which will visually bring the ceiling height down. Dark paint would contrast nice against the white wooden spindles.
Love a white ceiling, but be wary of using very dark colours in a hall/stairs as they can seem even darker if the light is poor, although you have got a window. I painted mine Pigeon by Farrow & Ball but it looks much, much darker as I have little natural light and I just don’t like it.
