What to do under stairs in living room?

Hi my stairs come down in my living room and currently I have the underneath the stairs completely open but want to make more use of a space instead of making it dumping ground it currently is. In the same corner my TV is located there as it's the only place logically it can go but it is too big to go in a unit under the stairs.
I recently decided to just build some big drawers like you see quite quickly when you google ideas. But recently I've been wondering whether I could make some drawers with some shells effect fully on the outside of them to give some area for photos etc.
Anyone know whether this would be possible or have they seen examples of this previously?
Or any ideas or angles I haven't thought of a welcome

This is the area I am referring to. This is in the living room not a massive room and behind me where the photo was taken is is currently a four seater sofa and and a little cabinet. So we see the steria and I do opportunity to create some storage as as previously we have just dumped stuff in there and it's not efficiently stored.

I think that better colors would be gray (more or less light, depending on how large is your room) or white. Other colors that match with a mix of black and white would be strong colors as red or green, but I think they are too colorfully to pain living walls. In my opinion the best one is white, although it sounds banal, but it would emphasize your wallpaper and wouldn't condicionate the rest of the decoration.

I love the reading nook, too. We had one in our old house, we called it our "Harry Potter cupboard" and the kids' toys had a home there. Love the open shelf idea, could also do floating shelves, drawer seating with a cushion (drawers giving storage) for the reading nook...oh the possibilities are such fun!

More photos. As you can see a lot of space behind the sofa could probably be better used. We are a family of 4, the room is our only tv room and is used in the evenings mostly. Single doorway - can be removed if necessary and blocked with furniture in short term. The pocket doors are the ones which are open all the time and used all the time.

You could make it look great with a mix of drawers and display shelves. But placing the TV and console unit in front is not ideal. Can you post pictures of the wider room and your sofa so people can provide suggestions about furniture placement, if that would help?

Now i can understand your space, though yes full room could be more conducive to ideas. Hmmm I think the TV itself would place nicely under the stairs, just not using that cabinet. Yes the depth could be used better. It might have to be bespoke, but it doesn't have to be grand . Could be just MDF, painted. It could be in two parts. Draws, shelves or cupbards the full height at the back, then a second unit on low wheels which could be the TV unit. These days TV's don't need much depth.

Or shelf unit with a mix of cupboards, open shelves with a shelf on a pivot point which can be drawn out to bring the TV into a viewing position, but when placed back takes the TV into a ready made area. Hmmm let me see if i can draw it out….

This is exactly what I was envisaging....
