Paint colour dilemma

(Dulux)In my bedroom I'm using natural calico as a base paint, and then I'm thinking of using teal tension or teal voyage in a rectangle are above my desk, then another sort of rectangle filled area of paint above my bed, using peppermint beach 2-5.

Colour blocking is a great idea to add focus to areas … good decorators tape is essential for neat edges -so buy the expensive tape for this project ! Try samples on A3 paper in the locations you are thinking of first, so you can see how it works with the natural and electric light in those areas.

Yes, we definitely need to see the fireplace before commenting! Actually, magnolia is a classic and maybe you're best to add colour in your furnishings/accessories, as you have with your new curtains. We need to see the furniture etc. as well. I love dark walls and I think your hall with the shiny floors and the right finish on the wall make it special. You already have the wrought iron, which definitely dictates a certain look. I hesitate to recommend a specific color from my monitor, but look at the BM colors in the 1037’s through the 1078’s and see if there is something there which looks good with the tile.

Try finding a curtain in green and purple. They are opposite on the color wheel and look fabulous together. I think it will add the vibrancy you seek. Go to Houzz photos and type in keywords purple and green curtains to see what I mean.

Go for a beige upholstered headboard, white bedding, beige throw & some feature cushions that have the beige & grey in them. Another option is to paint the walls to a similar shade as the wardrobe so it blends in. I would be careful what you do for furniture, possibly steer clear of too much more timber
