Bedroom furniture help please

Hi, we have this dated bedroom and we are considering to remove the cupboards on top of the bed (any help how we can do this please?). Then paint the wardrobes - any suggestions how?. Not sure what to do with the cupboards opposite the bed; Remove? Any other ideas what I can do with this bedroom? We will be changing the carpet and curtains and have a new bed coming. Thanks for your help, all this is new to us!

If you’re not sure what to do and have no DIY experience I’d get in a carpenter/joiner.

You could take all the doors off and have them made out of MFC and edged. There are 100s of Kronospan and Egger colours. This would modernise it.

I would get them to take off the carcase and doors over the bed as that does make it dated.

Okay there's a chance you may not see this but how about something unique overall? I recently got my bedroom done and added pendant lighting, and remote control blinds with any of the tv beds and my bedrooms a lot more comfortable now. With the cupboards, maybe go for something more contemporary looking or switch up the paint + finish for something more aesthetic.

I would paint the room white and wall behind bed the same color pink that is in chair and then add prints above headboard and a large piece of art on wall on the right. Change pillows on chair and bed to modern and vibrant colors in grey/pink and yellow and add a coverlette to bottom. Purchase larger lamp for table on right and remove lamp from left side of bed and place a tray and some books on the ottoman. Move carpet to beside the bed. White roman blinds and painting the door white would be a good idea and just ask at paint store what needs to be done to prime, etc. Adding a fun chandelier is also an idea.
