Our master bath has a large built in tub and a small shower. I could make the shower about 10” wider and replace tub with a free standing tub or should I eliminate the tub and make a large shower?

Hello! Aesthetically speaking you can make either one of the configurations look great. I think it comes down to what you use more, and whether you have a need for a tub? Personally, I love tubs and would definitely have one in my master!
In my experience, it’s best when homes have at least one tub in the house. If you don’t plan to use the master tub and have a combo tub/shower in one other bathroom, then a larger shower might be a good solution!
