My problem is that having recently re-enamelled an old bath, I find it's just too long to lie comfortably in it. I keep slipping down, so what should be a relaxing experience is an exercise in keeping my head above water - literally. What I need is some sort of grips I can put in the bath to rest my feet on. Does anybody have any suggestions? I live in Europe and haven't access to any large bathroom outlets.
I would hate to see u put any "sticky" non skid type applique's..But if u did, a few, well placed, matching ones could have the same "non-slip" effect, hence ..no sliding down in the tub...If u want to elevate your legs...you could try a plastic step stool..but would have to weight it down somehow...or just fill tub, rest your legs on it after filling...weight of legs may hold it down, but again, may need to add weight somehow.
I know exactly what you are talking about. We purchased a new home (new to us, 10 years old) The master tub must have been for someone over six feet tall. My choices are to install a new shorter deeper soaker tub...or find an insert to put down by my feet so that I can recline without sliding down. :(
I share your pain. Tub is too long and slippery. The solutions presented didn’t work because the bottom of the tub is textured. Luckily the sides are smooth. So the final working solution is to purchase two suction foot rests designed for the shower. Determine where your feet will rest, and stick them on sideways giving you a place to rest your foot. Now don’t try to leverage your whole body, and it will serve you well. The other part of my solution is a clear suction bath at, which of course won’t stick to the bottom, but will stick to the smooth back of the tub. It provides a surface to sit on that doesn’t slide away. Add a bath pillow and you are good to go.
Purchased the mat and suction foot rests at Amazon. Solution under $50.
