aaah ! makes sense now - hey any one can grow parsley, basil or thyme ! you can buy them in pots in the supermarket when (and if) you kill them !!! my husband thinks I have green fingers because our herbs always look great !!! little does he know I replace them monthly !!! lol !! and a sprig looks great on tinned soup, that you can then claim you cooked from scratch too !!!

Hi @aiexandrina, thanks for your reply. The pebble dash in the photo is actually falling off the back of the house, so we needed a full redoing. The acrylic render finish is guaranteed for 20 years, so won't need to be painted until then. We were considering grey and perhaps sandstone colours in keeping with the traditional look.

How about painting out all your wood and windows a charcoal grey, not gloss. Then maybe a light blueish grey paint for over the render. I think it will look v smart

This is a new build, the window length was made for a window seat, ..now changed to a kitchen sink, there is nowhere else in room to place sink and drainage as underfloor heating has been laid
