Just moved and toilet was not flushing well. Removed cistern (close coupled) and started to remove all parts as they were all old and the pipes were green. Cannot get the intake pipe off its completely stuck with loads of wd40 on it. Have then managed to chip a bit of the porcelain on the outside around the pipe. So I'm thinking new cistern (this one is pretty old i guess and I would like a more water efficient one). I cannot find a close coupled cistern for sale on its own. Could get a whole toilet and just use the cistern? Do all close coupled toilets fit? Or do I give in and get a plumber? Any ideas?
