Need help deciding lower cabinet color!
We are down to the final two options for cabinet colors and I can’t decide between magnetic gray and crushed ice. Magnetic gray is a really pretty gray that reads green. Crushed ice is an off white/light gray. The crushed ice looks better with the quartz but I love the look of magnetic gray. It has a homey, cozy feel. The upper cabinets will be sw pure white. Does the magnetic gray look ok with the quartz? What looks better? Don’t care about future resale - we will be here for awhile. Thank you!

3 years agoThank you all. Here are some photos with the pure white painted on a 11x17 piece of paper. I love the magnetic gray but my concern is it doesn’t work with the counters. The crushed ice seems to work better because it picks up the tone in the veining but if I go with the magnetic gray, I just want to make sure it doesn’t clash.

Comments (3)I think it can be stunning! I agree with cabinets to the ceiling except use cdrown molding for the English look you desire. By all means good lighting however to achieve the look do not use harsh lighting. Have dimmers and have a smallish lamp on one of your countertops for ambient lighting. I do suggest Carrera marble if you go grey or hammered stainless (to resemble pewter) if you go dark blue for your countertops and pl;ease consider hanging some antique mirror. I have a wonderful photo of a tiny deep blue kitchen and cannot seem to lay my hands on it. If I find it soon I will post it for you. I hope you will go for it and post photos! Comments (27)No, ask away :-) I'm not a pro though, just kind of passionate about design and interiors and all that :-) Great cabinet. I'm really not opposed to mixing metals. You'll get a more eclectic mix. It is the result of going with what you love and not with what you think goes with something else. And that will give your interior your own personal style. Matter of taste. Some people really don't like it. Others do :-) Go for a fairly large coffee table. I would think at least 100 cm wide. Tape (news) paper together to the size of the coffee table you like and lay that on the floor. It will give you an idea about the scale in your room. You need it to be easily reachable from the sofas, since you have these high armrests. And your room can take a large table. If you can't find a large one you like, you can also think about putting together 4 smaller square ones for example. The one with the metal base (I took two from the Soul Lifestyle site) is on the smallish side. The black one is larger. Round fits nicely with the shape of your sofas. Not sure if I mocked up the sizes correctly, but I think the lovely side table is too small. The lamp is about 70 cm tall (again, I guestimated the size), but it does look small on that low table. Comments (8)Maybe if you stuck to one colour scheme such as white and purple or grey and lime green, colours that compliment each other. You could have a cabinet on the larger side with some family photos or a mirror above it and maybe a single colour on the top half of the wall and a complimentary wallpaper on the bottom half. You could go for wood on the floor or a simple soft carpet but it might get muddy. You could also have a bench with storage underneath for shoes and bags, but try get a colour that matched the walls. 2 years agolast modified: 2 years agoso pretty! it's up to you. it looks fine as is. (I actually have the same type of set up and debated on bringing in a pendant. ) since you have plenty of lighting, I think you can get by w/just some type of blind.
(what I would consider for you, is to bring in a salvaged type of vintage door! that would look great
you could always frost or 'mercury' the glass.

However, I think with all of the solid and muted tones, a printed covering w/some colors may look better?(and, I really liek the salvage pantry door too)
but I do like the woven woods too. you just need the right shade
this is a woven wood in a white tone. I think I like the wood tones better
a type of solar shade (they come in a ton of colors and prints) , shown w/a sconce
I also like this idea. find or make yourself a vintage stained glass or beveled glass piece that's framed to fit perfectly inside the window, and hang it like this. (look on Etsy. they'll custom make anything for you. I had one made for my bathroom window)
