Position of sink

What was the reason for separating the two appliances. Was this a reno? I'm about to design my laundry and think I'll have to do this but wondering if it works okay? I don't particularly want to dig into concrete to shift plumbing.

Hi, thanks for your question. Yes this was a Reno and the existing plumbing determined the layout of the washing machine. Hope this helps, Katie

Love drawers in kitchens..especially in lower cabinets..of course sink and stove and refrigerator and dishwasher are handier if they are close together..my favorite feature is a nice big pantry so all your stuff can be in easy...accessible...open to view shelving...a counter...food,dishes,occasional use cookware and small appliances...all right where you can see it and access it easily...nice and close adjacent to the kitchen. This leaves all storage in the kitchen for every day use pieces...this creates less need for upper cabinets so your kitchen can have more windows and a less closed in feeling to work in

Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

Kitchen layout for a new build

Hi all, I'm tearing my hair out re kitchen layout for a new build and would love your suggestions. I'm finding it hard to design something clean-cut but yet that is not too closed in around the entrance door to the kitchen. The style will be handleless matt with a white stone worktop, very modern hopefully. Anyway, we will be having the hob closer to the wall to allow for more seating space on peninsula - it's measuring about 2.7m at the moment. Potentially a mix of the 3 different plans might work best, but the position of the sink and hob won't change. Would love to hear your feedback. Thanks!
