kitchen layout confusion

Hi and please help on this very common question

We are starting a home renovation and extension in September and we need to start making final decisions on layout of our kitchen dining area. Ideally I would like the island to be a social space able to seat 4-6 people.
I’m not sure whether we should just run a long rectangular island down the longer portion of the room with seating at the garden end and the dining table would run parallel or
Have a wedge/semicircular type island as I have hand drawn to allow a more social space and the dining room table up at the bifold doors...
Any insights welcome and advice from anyone with a layout like this.

Hi Fran.I think the hand-drawn design is fabulous as 1.You did not put a hob or tap in the island.....this in my opinion leads to lovely clean lines in a kitchen.

2.This design gives more space in a kitchen which is what you want.

3.I LOVE the wedge shape WITH seating. I saw one similar in a kitchen designed by Savvy Kitchens and loved it.

4. I noticedyou had drawn 2 little chairs and a little circular table also. Fab!! I love the idea of a seperate little zone near light to read/relax/enjoy garden view. Anyway...the best of luck with whichever plan you decide to follow.👍

I think it could look good with a nice light feature overhead. I will check out Savvy kitchens for inspiration.

We have just purchased a new build, and it comes with kitchen installed, we get choice of finish and can alter and pay any difference. The kitchen can only run on one wall for 4.5m max. I'd love to include an eye level oven, but fear it's then takes up too much counter space. We'll have a tall fridge/freezer, dishwasher, 1.5 bowl sink and an L-shaped bar on the right hand side. Any ideas of pictures would be helpful! :)

Our flat has a very, very small kitchen. I'm trying to work out how to make the space look 'neater' and make the best use of this unused space between two cupboards. Some of the key issues: The corner wall cupboard contains the gas meter so can't get smaller and the boiler has to be replaced soon but the fitter has said needs to stay in the same location :( The boiler work means that the tiles can be changed as some will get ruined. The cupboard space is used for food and equipment only. (The fridge is in a nearby cupboard outside the kitchen and plates/bowls are in a unit in the dining room.) However, as I'm only 5ft the very top shelves are inaccessible and so mostly empty. I'd love to hear any suggestions, as it feels impossible to make this space any better.

Hi our kitchen company has advised that we take away the units on left leaving only units and worktop at other side, leaving free walkway and clean lines. They also suggested increasing the window to full length at this side. Looking to know if this would work conscious that it might be bare

Hi, I need help with my kitchen layout. As you can see the dining area is not centred to the window and the main kitchen door is opening in on it. Would a round table help resolve the problem? Or would a banquette against the window work? What would you do? For context the double doors are accordion doors to the living room that will remain open for the most part. I would be delighted with any suggestions please.
