How did you achieve the board and batten look to the siding with the LP smartside since it their only option is reverse board and batten? Is it the vertical panels with trim applied? Love the mix of the sidings, it is the same look I am going for and we are planning to use LP Smartside.
That's exactly what we did, we used the panels vertically and applied trim to cover the seams. I think anytime you can mix things up and add different textures, it is going to look more interesting and pleasing to the eye. We are very happy with the LP Smartside. Good luck with your build!!
Shannon more help if you don't mind...wondering if you used flat LP vertical panels or the reverse board and batten panels. Also what size trim pieces did you apply and how much space is between your trim pieces?
I'm confused. I could see using the 190 series trim for the battens (not sure about cost of those) but what vertical panel are you talking about? I have been through every LP sales sheet I can find and their entire site and I have yet to see any vertical panels that aren't narrow gapped (8" or so) reverse B&B or some other faux lap siding product. But it looks like you are using some product with at least 1' wide gaps which I can't find. What PANEL is flat?
