I've painted a landscape on the wall, wallpapered one and enlarged a photo and had it printed on canvas. There are inexpensive outlets that shoukd have a framed printed landscape too. Just need to keep looking. Kirklands used too, Z Gallery, Homegoods. Or try searching online.

I have a tile roof, and they make going mod kind of difficult, but they do add charm.With the sort of earthy color scheme i posted before, you could paint the bricks with masonry paint in a paler tone like sw ancient marble or wash them with a more grayed green so they add taupe tones if you do the chimneys the same - but really, the color resonates with the roof, so use it as color inspiration. Look at 100 year old homes with lines like this and their window mullions - if the upper elements and sides of the larger picture window had muntins / grilles, they would be more charming. Still, you are aiming at retro farmhouse with the muntins, not necessarily authentic historic . . but that gives you some concept about how to go and search for inspiration. You don't have to tear out the entire ramp - could widen "pad/porch" to left and put stairs right down the front depending on car park / depth to roadway design - have your ramp and stairs and just take off the old handrail too . . great for universal design when selling tho railing is not attractive.

I'd definitely put some kind of stone on the walls, all the way to the ceiling. I think the gas fireplace that you have is really cute, but might look at a stone slab on the floor instead of the mat that is there now. I'd take stone inside of that alcove as well, whether matching or contrasting. You can still hang art above, on top of the stone. It would really make the room!

Hello annemariedonohue, I think it would be really stylish to continue the marble on the worktop but suggest quartzite worktop as it's harder wearing. I imagine you might be introducing a table or something and so I don't imagine there will be much echo, there are also walled cabinets which will absorb sound. To bring in warmth add some lovely wooden chopping boards in a stack and some marble ones too.. Some lovely finishes are handles and square cup handles are pretty hot right now.. Also you could consider painting the walls that are exposed a lovely chalky off white, cream or stone colour.. Earthy colours and matt.... : ))
