The staircase shown here is beautiful and I’m interested in recreating. Can you convert a traditional staircase into a floating one? Or do I have to buy a new staircase in order to achieve this “floating” look?
This staircase isn't really floating. The framing is connected at the opening and bottom. It just doesn't have solid framing underneath the stringers which makes it appear unsupported. Most stringers work independent of the framing below them so it may be achievable. You may have to poke around under the stair to evaluate.
