hi changing layout of living room
my current layout has my sofa against a wall by the front door with a small armchair by alcove cupboard (pictures 1-4)
It's ok but the front door opens by sofa and is not practical
My thoughts are to put
tele against back wall and
move tele the alcove cupboard
small armchair would go where the sofa currently is thank you :)

Coffee table between tv and two seater. leave the 3 seater on the same wall but closer to pianos current position. Put piano in suggested position. If you're open to big changes, especially if you plan on replacing the fireplace, you could install a lower mantle, and install the TV above it on a swing arm. This way, the TV and fireplace will remain the focus in the centre of the room, while still being able to view the TV wherever you deem most comfortable on any given day. I think the oblong shape of the room would allow for a couple different seating arrangements. Looking at the second image (fireplace on the right), imagine a compact love seat with it's back facing the double doors. Across from the love seat, 2 accent chairs, backs facing the photographer. Add a coffee table of your choice, and you now have a conversation space in front of the fireplace that is also ideal for watching TV. Thinking about the space behind the love seat, closest to the double doors; a half-height, full-width bookshelf would be lovely along the right wall (left of the fireplace), or even a cushioned bench seat with storage underneath, or both! One orientation to the right of the fireplace, and one to the left. Behind the love seat you could place a console table with lamps and accent decor that would create a visual division, making each seating area seem more intimate and purposeful. Comments (0)Hi, I'm trying to rearrange my living room but having a bit of difficulty. The room has 3 doors in it (1 hall door, 1 kitchen door & 1 door for under the stairs). There's also a fireplace and then one large window. I'm trying to create space for while already having the likes of our tv, 2 & 3 seater sofas so to have the room prepared for when Christmas rolls around! Comments (3)Hi Rebecca, Congratulations on your new home. I have quickly sketched out the floor plan of your room in 2D and 3D. For the first option I placed the 2 seater in the window alcove, however I dont know the height of the window so this may not work if it is a large window as you dont want the furniture to obscure the window. 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoI understand that the arrangement isn't perfect because of the front door. However, the room looks nicest with the sofa facing the fire and the T.V. Yes, i'd put the T.V in the alcove nearest the window with the cupboard, and I'd swap the armchair to the other corner and move the lamp away from in front of the cupboard and window, the whole room will look more spacious.
I got a little confused, do you have two sofa's or was the second pic the sofa moved to the suggested spot? I presumed the latter.
The sofa doesn't look right facing the window, and i feel you'll get a crick in your neck trying to look at the T.V from that stance.I'd live with the sofa where it is as it's already in the best spot.
