Change living room layout

Our living room needs re-arranging (approx. 23' long x 13' wide). Currently, our large screen TV is sitting in front of a bay window. Two large couches are located around the fireplace, one of them is very far from the TV (16'). We are thinking of moving the TV into the LHS alcove beside the fireplace and placing the piano opposite the entrance, removing the sideboard as it's not really needed. See attached drawing. Any comments/recommendations e.g. what to do with the bay window once it's accessible? Don't want to put TV over fireplace, it would be too high. Is the proposed lay-out too unbalanced?

Definitely have the coffee table in front of the lounge. It centralises the room so much, I understand the room is quite narrow but trust me, it does.

I disagree with the above comments. If you're open to big changes, especially if you plan on replacing the fireplace, you could install a lower mantle, and install the TV above it on a swing arm. This way, the TV and fireplace will remain the focus in the centre of the room, while still being able to view the TV wherever you deem most comfortable on any given day. I think the oblong shape of the room would allow for a couple different seating arrangements. Looking at the second image (fireplace on the right), imagine a compact love seat with it's back facing the double doors. Across from the love seat, 2 accent chairs, backs facing the photographer. Add a coffee table of your choice, and you now have a conversation space in front of the fireplace that is also ideal for watching TV. Thinking about the space behind the love seat, closest to the double doors; a half-height, full-width bookshelf would be lovely along the right wall (left of the fireplace), or even a cushioned bench seat with storage underneath, or both! One orientation to the right of the fireplace, and one to the left. Behind the love seat you could place a console table with lamps and accent decor that would create a visual division, making each seating area seem more intimate and purposeful. Add a full-width, floor length set of drapes on either side of the double doors and area rugs under each seating area and Bob's your uncle!

Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. (Grab wine and pretend they aren't yours for half an hour! ;-) )

Small Living room, awkward layout

Hi, I'm trying to rearrange my living room but having a bit of difficulty. The room has 3 doors in it (1 hall door, 1 kitchen door & 1 door for under the stairs). There's also a fireplace and then one large window. I'm trying to create space for while already having the likes of our tv, 2 & 3 seater sofas so to have the room prepared for when Christmas rolls around! Put the tv in front of the rear windows. Put the 2 seater in the middle of the room facing tv near fireplace. Coffee table between tv and two seater. leave the 3 seater on the same wall but closer to pianos current position. Put piano in suggested position. As for the bay windows a nice small round table with two chairs. A place to sit and have a drink and listen to music and look out the window...adds intimacy.
