Door ideas please!
I’ve decided to paint our internal porch door - I love the stained glass etc. But our whole house needs brightening up! The picture of the tiles is what we are laying in our porch.
I was thinking a light/mid grey colour for the door..what do you think or any other ideas?
Also which type of paint would be best to use?!

5 years agoI think a mid grey would work with your tiles. see pic attached similar tiles to yours However, looking at your pics the area does look very gloomy despite the windows so I would suggest looking at better lighting for space as well.

Sliding door/ divider ideas
Comments (29)With a sliding door, you can have each side different to match the style of the room it faces. Here are some ideas that, believe it or not, are done with sharpies on flat surfaces. I can envision a "fireplace" on the lounge side. On the dining room side, you could do the "double door" look, by putting half on the door, and half on the wall next to the door. So when the door is closed, it looks like a pair of doors, but when the door is slid open it looks like only one door (but it's the wall!) I added the 3rd picture just because I think it's so cool. Comments (0)Our new house has a large drop from the back door (soon to be French doors) to the back garden. I have an active 18 month old boy and a soon to be mobile 6 month old girl, there is no way I can leave the set up as it is as its very steep and dangerous (even for adults). The most obvious solution I can see is to build out a raised deck. Its a sunny spot in the evenings so it probably would be used, but tbh decking is just not really something I naturally gravitate towards. I was wondering if there were any other ideas I have overlooked? it has to be relatively cheap as our savings are being swallowed by the house renovation. Originally we had burnt wood cladding (per 3d model images attached) but took them out for budget reasons. regretting that a bit now and difficult to retrofit cladding without risking damage to plaster so looking at what options or ideas people might have to break up the front, even at this stage. 5 years agoI'm not a paint expert but as for colour have a look at the before and after below (and some other inspiration pics) . I'm tempted to go for a Blush/Rose pink on my own internal porch door having seen these photos . Would go great with your grey tiles too.

5 years agoMaybe consider picking up a colour from the stained glass? We did that with the blue and I love the pop of colour inside and out. It's actually much brighter blue than picture but it's a dark cloudy day.
