Advice on colours to bring a room together
Comments (24)Susiem14, I think this room looks lovely and cosy and like your fireplace. I would add a few bits in cream and fawn/grey. Please don't be offended by the comment above... Everybody is different and we all have different budgets! I have recently changed my lounge to be neutral tones - still working on the cushions but sending you a photo of my new rug - was from Dunelm Mill - not expensive at all but v pleased with it....See MoreSuggestions on Colour, sofa and tv placement.
Comments (2)It feels bland because floors and walls are beige. (ish). If you want to make a statement about a room. contrasting shades work really well. You have spotlights so the south aspect is irrelevant. Put a dimmer on spots if not already there so you control the light and feel of a room. I presume the fire is staying there so that back wall would be perfect for TV to be put on/entertainment system. Corner couch facing tv wall with chaise lounge on fire side. Behind the corner or L shaped couch, table and chairs so the room is functional for entertaining also and the layout is proportional. The room also has a focal point (TV)...See MoreWould love advice on Dining table light
Comments (0)Hi, I have found lights I love but am unsure of configuration over my dining table. Am thinking 2 large (450mm wide) or 3 small 250mm (or 300mmm) over the table. The restriction I have is the flat roof width above the table is just 93cm wide (see where current IKEA shade is hanging). I'm worried might look a bit squeezed, The table length is 2 meters. The 3rd picture is similar but with 5 sides instead of 4. Could pick either. Would love some opinions and any other thoughts? Thank you!...See MoreLiving room decor - advice please
Comments (0)I live in a rented property so unfortunately I’m not permitted to paint the walls. I’m stuck with a boring magnolia on the walls in the living room. The floors are a light wood and the sofas are dark brown leather. I have bought this rug - see photo. I would like to add some nice curtains and cushions to make the room warm and cosy but I’m not sure what colours to go for. Any advice much appreciated, thank you....See MoreRob Charie
